The Company

How long has your company been established?
Our company originally began in 1992 as a First Aid Training Company, and has seen many partnerships and ideas since then. In 1996 a new partner gave us the idea of starting to run Medical Transport, and we have been expanding since.

How can I be assured you will give me the best service possible?
At All Wales, we believe in providing a quality service, whether it is for a patient, a student or as a supplier. As such we believe that the quality of our work relies heavily on the quality of our employees and our equipment. All of our employees are friendly knowledgeable people, who all have some experience in their respective roles. We turn out a vast number of journeys throughout the year with over 10,000 patients being transported annually from one healthcare trust alone, so we can assure you that our transport is both safe and reliable. As far as training goes, our trainers will answer any question on any subject and will happily cater our courses to your needs. We believe that what is important in First Aid is not just getting a certificate, but learning about topics that are important to you and that you may need to know in your day-to-day life.

How do I find your office?
We are a ten minute drive from Junction 45 of the M4. For a detailed map showing our position please check this link

Transport Services

How old are you vehicles? How well equipped are they?
We have a range of different vehicles in many different shapes, sizes, and ages. However, we can assure you that all vehicles are kept fully serviced, insured, and checked throughout on a regular basis, and no cost is spared on the purchase of newer vehicles and their upkeep. All vehicles have Satellite Navigation, Radio Communication, and tracking systems, and are fully equipped according to the british Ambulance association and NAPAS guidelines.

I am worried about the risk of infection. What do you do to combat this problem?
Being a professionally run service, infection control is high on our list of priorities, so each vehicle is completely cleaned throughout at the start and end of EVERY shift and endures a complete takedown weekly. By a take-down, we mean exactly that - even the seats are taken out to ensure they are thoroughly cleaned. If we are aware of a patient on board who is contagious, we will do our utmost to handle them wearing protective equipment such as gloves and aprons, and the vehicle will be cleaned down as soon as they have been transported.

Can you supply a paramedic crew?
All our vehicles are manned by Emergency Medical Technicians. However, we do have fully qualified Paramedics available to us. We tend to find out the patient's needs and assess ourselves what kind of crew and vehicle they will most likely need, but if it is specifically requested, we will do our best to meet their needs.

How far will you transport?
All Wales Ambulance Services crews have traveled the length and breadth of the UK, and some have even traveled to Europe whilst on duty. We are willing to take on any transport request, any time, to any part of the world. Just give us a call and we'll see what we can do for you.

Will you transport Private Patients?
We transport patients from all healthcare backgrounds, and there is no reason for us to not transport any sort of patient.

Training Services

How do I know that you will provide a reliable service?
We are an approved First Aid at Work Training Organization under the Health & Safety Executive (certificate no: 1399/94). To retain this certification, our company undergoes routine checks to ensure that the delivery and final assessment of our training is of superb quality. During these visits, our documentation and administration procedures are also monitored.

What exactly do these monitoring procedures entail?
First, our administration procedures are thoroughly checked. The inspector needs to be sure that our records are accurate, and that they are held for a minimum of five years (In order to ensure that students are informed of the necessary dates for refresher courses, etc). Our certificates must maintain a certain standard, and have to contain the information advised to us by the health & Safety Executive.

We have six trainers, and six assessors working for us. All of our staff undergo routine checks, ensuring that their qualifications are of the required level, and that they are authorized to carry out their duties.

Although qualified trainers in their own right, when they’re not training our staff are fully quailed ambulance technicians, nurses, paramedics, etc. So you can be assured of their experience and professionalism within the field.

So you're administration and your staff are checked, but what about the course itself?
Our training courses must follow a Quality Assurance Plan, as follows:

1. We have a plan which shows by whom, how often and by what methods the skills of the trainers/assessors are assessed and reviewed.
2. We have a record of assessments of the trainers and assessors, including any outcomes.
3. There is a procedure in place to monitor the quality of training, trainers and assessors through student feedback.
4. There is a complaints procedure in place.
5. We have adequate training equipment, whilst ensuring adherence to hygiene at all times.
6. Our training venue has all of the necessities required in order o make your experience comfortable, enjoyable and rewarding.

I'm not with a company but I would like to take a course by myself - how do I do that?
As long as a space is available on one of our courses, and as long as you are prepared to join another booking, you can contact us by phone fax or email, and booking is immediate. (If you would like to join a course in our Station near Swansea, you can find a list of available dates here.)

How many people can I put on a course?
Most courses are restricted to a maximum of twelve people, and a minimum of six. However, so long as we know in advance, this can be altered to suit your requirements. If there are more than twelve students and no way to split the group into two sessions, we may consider putting an extra trainer in with the group to ensure that every student has enough time to take part in practical sessions. All In-house courses already running are restricted to the above numbers.

I want to organize a course but I can't make it to your venue.
All courses from appointed persons to emergency medical technician training are run either at our own venue, or at a venue suitable to your needs. Costs quoted are inclusive of training and assessment, venue, meals, etc. Just give us a call and give us your details, we will be able to send a trainer to you.
