Automated External Defibrillator Training
This course is suggested by the Health & Safety Executive for candidates who currently hold a valid First Aid Certificate, and are in the high risk/remote workplace environment where there may be a possible delay in emergency response.
It aims at making an impact on the quality of Advanced First Aid provided in the workplace, increasing the chance of survival for cardiac arrest victims.
What You Will Learn:
- Updates on:
- Basic life saving First Aid skills
- AED Safety regulations
- Types of AED
- Correct Assembly of AED
- Recognition of common Cardiac Arrhythmias
- Practical Skills using an AED in a simulated environment.
Pre Entry Course Requirements:
- Candidates should hold a valid First Aid at Work (HSE Approved) Certificate.
- Ideal candidates should be those who are calm and methodical in their daily roles.
- Maximum of 10 candidates.
Course Duration:
- Candidates are required to obtain four contact hours, excluding breaks.
- 09:00-14:00 / 12:00-17:00
- Times can vary to suit your needs.
Certification
- Automated External Defibrillation Administrator Certificate.
- Certificates are valid for 12 months; updates are advised but not mandatory on a six-monthly basis.
- Candidates will be continually assessed by their Training Facilitator, and will also undertake a short written assessment.
