Emergency First Aid at Work
This course is ideal for smaller workplaces where the risks of accidents, injury and illness are at a low level, such as Small Shops, Office environments, Libraries.
Perfect for an Appointed Person or people who provide support to qualified First Aiders in the workplace.
What You Will Learn:
- Basic life saving First Aid skills
- Health & Safety regulations
Course Content:
- First Aid provisions in the workplace
- Accident reporting procedures
- Safety & hygiene in First Aid roles
- Acquiring professional help
- The unconscious person (in and/or out of seizure)
- Choking Protocol
- Blood loss & common injuries
- Management of shock
- Management of a Heart Attack
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
Pre Entry Course Requirements:
- Suitable candidate in the workplace who will be available at most times
- No formal qualification needed, but a reasonable level of learning abilities will be beneficial
- Maximum of 12 Candidates
Course Duration:
- Candidates are Required to obtain six contact hours, excluding breaks
- 09:00-17:00 (to allow for practical work)
Certification
- Three Years Emergency First Aid at Work for the Appointed Persons.
- HSE Strongly recommends that First Aiders in the workplace attend annual practical skills courses during valid certificated period, but this is not mandatory.
- Candidates will be continually assessed by their Training Facilitator
