Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work
(1 QCF Credit)

This course is aimed at any individual who wishes to gain a national credited qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work. The credit achieved will go toward any vocational qualification being studied at the time.

Perfect for an Appointed Person or people who provide support to qualified First Aiders in the workplace.

Course Content:

-    Roles and Responsibilities of the First Aider
-    Risk Assessment
-    Incident Reporting
-    First Aid Equipment
-    Incident Assessment
-    Primary Casualty Assessment
-    Calling for emergency assistance
-    Managing an unresponsive casualty who is breathing
-    Managing a Seizure
-    Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
-    Choking Procedures
-    Wounds & Managing Blood Loss
-    Managing Shock
-    Minor Injuries

Pre Entry Course Requirements:

  • Suitable candidate in the workplace who will be available at most times
  • No formal qualification needed, but a reasonable level of learning abilities will be beneficial
  • Maximum of 12 Candidates

Course Duration:

  • Candidates are Required to obtain six contact hours training, excluding breaks
  • Course Times are 09:00-17:00.

Certification

  • Three Year Certificate in ‘Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work’. Value - 1 QCF Credit.
  • Assessments will be ongoing with a written assessment at the end of the course.
    • HSE Strongly recommends that First Aiders in the workplace attend annual practical skills courses during valid certificated period, but this is not mandatory.
