Training Staff

Experience

Our trainers come from all walks of life, some have been with us for many years, others have come to us after pursuing other careers in various fields. Collectively, our Training staff have over 100 years of experience in the Ambulance, Fire and Police Services, as well as other Medical and Emergency Professions.

All of our trainers have been to various events with us to provide medical cover as part of our team, meaning they all have first-hand experience of the dangers that can be faced in the real world whilst administering treatment and assistance.

As such, we don't teach our courses "by the book". We cover all the areas required, but the delivery of our courses is interesting, informative and honest. Our trainers often share their experiences with you to give you examples of what you may face as a first aider, and you can rest assured that these experiences are genuine, and that we are not simply preaching scenarios from the book.

We also have staff who were once carers for children and the elderly, and these trainers bring a valued experience to our Load Management courses. Who better to speak to about manual handling issues than someone who has been in your very same position? It takes experience in a field to understand the problems that you face, and we can offer you that experience.

Dedication

As a private company, our reputation means the world to us. We are dedicated to maintaining and improving that reputation daily, and our trainers all share that dedication. This is passed on to you, our students, as you can be assured of quality teaching and a worthwhile investment.

In our training sessions, you will notice everyone is always given a feedback form. We ask that if you do come with us, please do fill out this form as honestly as you wish. Our trainers will never be offended by a bad 'review', in fact they will all happily accept any criticism, and be willing to take it on board. We are always aiming to improve, and so we ask that you help us to see what we are doing right, and just as importantly, what we can improve even further.

Activity

Who wants to sit in a classroom being droned at by a robot? We know we don't, and promise that our courses will never remind you of 'death by power point'. Our presentations serve as a guide to the course as a whole, but we never rely solely on our projector to teach. Instead you can expect plenty of practical demonstrations and scenarios, which place you, the first aider, in the situations you may face after you leave the classroom.

"What happens if my daughter burns her arm?"
"What if I find some guy passed out on the floor?"
"What if...?"

That is what our scenarios try to answer. In our First Aid at Work courses, we endeavor to allow every student an opportunity to role-play an emergency situation, and our trainers can be quite convincing actors when they set their minds to it!

When you are faced with an emergency, your body freezes, and all first aid knowledge goes out of the window. But we would rather you experience that in a controlled environment, so that you can be prepared for the shock feeling, than face it for the first time on your own, and feel lost for what to do. So our scenarios and practice sessions are a wonderful opportunity for you to practice, and also to question the trainers on different scenarios you may be wondering about. We will always be happy to talk through any questions you may have.

Participation

A past student of ours once went on a First Aid course with another company, and shared her experience with us. Apparently during the entire course, no student was allowed to ask questions until the very end. Of course by this point everyone had forgotten any questions they had wanted to ask in the first place!

Whilst we can understand the chaos that can ensue when everyone is debating an issue, we don't see why this is a bad thing. By talking with your trainer, asking questions as they come to mind, and debating the treatment of a patient, we learn more. Our minds are much more involved with the task at hand, and we are more likely to remember a conversation than a lecture.

All in all, we are very proud of all of our training staff at All Wales, and we believe they are capable of providing exemplary teaching to suit everyone's needs. We think you'll agree.
